Shadow movie Financial Issues

Venkatesh is currently busy with two films out of which one is a multistarrer with Mahesh Babu and the other one is Shadow, directed by Meher Ramesh. This film is a stylish action entertainer that is being made on a high budget. As per unofficial sources the total cost of this film is around 36 crore rupees.

Venkatesh doesn't have a film which collected a theatrical share of 25 crore rupees. Going by the track record of Meher Ramesh and the look of Venkatesh as Shadow, buyers may not shell out big bucks for this film. Which means this movie might do a pre release business of 18 to 20 crore rupees. Other rights of the movie may fetch another five to six crores and that means Shadow will have to release with a minimum deficit of 10 crore rupees.

Same problem has troubled the release of Dhamarukam. This film may not face release problems as there is Suresh Babu to back it up. However cost recovery seems highly impossible unless Shadow is a huge blockbuster and creates new records for Venkatesh. Senior heroes are facing problems in delivering big hits in the recent past as the audiences are more inclined towards watching the younger lot. Let's hope for the best.
